Our Story

Built on roots. Driven by purpose.

Roots & Roast was born from a simple but powerful observation: Nigeria sits on one of West Africa’s richest agricultural foundations yet its farmers rarely see the full value of what they produce.

ย

We built a bridge. A transparent, efficient, and globally competitive commodity trading operation that connects smallholder farming communities across six Nigerian states with the buyers who need their products most.

ย

The name says it all:ย Rootsย for the farmers, the soil, and where everything begins.ย Roastย for transformation, value, and the journey to global markets.

ย

"From Nigerian Soil to Global Markets."

Sustainability

Trade that

gives back

Sustainability isn’t a marketing word for us โ€” it’s built into how we operate. Every decision we make considers the farmer, the land, and the long-term health of the supply chain.

Farmer Partnerships

We work directly with 200+ smallholder farming families, paying fair market prices and providing consistent demand so farmers can invest in their operations with confidence.

Ethical
Sourcing

No child labour. No forced labour. Every farm in our network is vetted against our sourcing code. We choose partners who share our values, and we walk away from those who don’t.

Environmental Practice

We encourage crop rotation, minimal chemical use, and sustainable post-harvest practices across our farmer network. Building traceability systems that track environmental metrics farm-by-farm.

Transparent Traceability

Every shipment can be traced from the specific farming communities where it was grown, through our grading centres, to the export documentation we provide at port.

For Buyers

Everything you
need before you order.

We understand that sourcing from a new supplier is a significant decision. We’ve built our operation around transparency and documentation at every step.
